In May 2009 ESFÈRIC comes to light, the first proposal for LA FURTIVA, within the program of the 22nd Street Theatre Festival of Vila-real, Castelló. The public response led us to believe that we achieved one of the goals we had set when creating LA FURTIVA, touch sensitivity and intelligence of the audience, all sorts of audiences.
The challenge was intriguing: to unite the street theatre with contemporary dance. Join the "popular" with "elitist". These concepts appear to us really ridiculous and class. But It’s part of our culture, but with them and from them we create our artistic proposals. The experience has given us reason and the artistic quality of ESFÈRIC is not incompatible, in any way, with the understanding of the message.
With LA FURTIVA we have "things" in a different way to which we are accustomed to count. The poetics of the theatre at the service of dance, poetry, life. We are looking for silence, pause, look, the theatrical illusion of truth. LA FURTIVA's main objective is to bring dance to the street, and that all people have a body that expresses and dance is the best of languages.
LA FURTIVA is an artistic group born in Vila-real with the intention to experiment with dance, cabaret and poetry. For this first experiment, we counted with the dancer and actress PEPA CASES (A Tempo Dansa) and actress and juggler MARTA MARTIN. With them we have opened a small door with which we sneak "furtively" in the heaven for street arts.
LA FURTIVA like trespassing on the streets and squares of any town without having to answer to anyone but only the audience poachers who happen to find this adventure.

LA FURTIVA is a proposal of PRODUCCIONS SCURA SL.
ESFÈRIC is a static street performance that blends dance, theatre, improvisation and urban visual impact.
Two people live in their own particular world which is represented by a transparent bubble and they move through the streets of the town with it until they meet. The characters want to get to know each other but they are isolated by the sphere. The Bubble is a poetic element, a metaphor about communication between people. Coming out of the sphere is the birth of a new life, in other words, leaving one phase in order to begin another. One character has no trouble going out into the outside world, while for the other one it is a traumatic experience because she is afraid of what might happen out there. Due to a lack of understanding, the sphere becomes a transparent wall that is higher and thicker than any real solid wall. Dance appears as a language used for communication, but finally and after breaking down the transparent armour, the relationship between the people becomes tiresome, complicated and based on a power relationship.
THE TECHNICAL COMPLEXITY OF 'ESFÈRIC'
The key elements of the story are 2 transparent spheres, with a diameter of 2 m and an airtight zip (which allows the performer to remain inside for roughly 10 minutes before there is no oxygen left inside the bubble).
Although there are 2 performers 'on stage', there is always another person, unseen by the audience, at hand to help the actresses get into and out of the sphere and to control the amount of time they remain inside it.
